NSFW: Nouns Fair @ETHSanFrancisco

hey! here’s another summary of what happened at the Nouns Fair, this time in San Francisco.

Nouns Fair @ETHSanFrancisco

Thanks to Nouns and the funding from NSFW, NounsDAO Amigos could execute the Nouns Fair for the third time. An IRL experience to spread Nouns amidst ETHSanFrancisco –ETH Global’s recent hackathon in San Francisco, California. The event was planned for hackers from SF and different parts of the world. The event was held at the Palace of Fine Arts from November 4th to 6th, 2022.

The Nouns Fair was conceived as the official cultural space and NFT gallery inside the hackathon for 1,700 attendees –worth noting that there were no official events other than the Nouns Fair. Thanks to this, we were in a privileged and convenient position to put Nouns in attendees’ eyes.

What we delivered

The Nouns Fair experience comprised a space with a photo set, games, a merch stand, and an NFT gallery. This space inside the venue worked as the core attraction of the Nouns Fair, including the following:

  • Photoset
  • Games
  • Culture á la nounish
  • NFT gallery
  • Nouns Fair reel

To make it feel like a real fair, people had to interact with the games, noggles, and photo opportunities to claim their merch and POAPs. From 9 am to 9 pm, we encouraged people to interact with the fair and learn about Nouns!

Photoset

Inspired by the 60s’ flower power, the photoset included a VW bus at the center of the space decorated with Nouns flower heads, surrounded by noun heads, wood crates, baskets, a hippy carpet, and a swag station with t-shirts, stickers, pins, fortune cookies, noggles, and POAPs.

ETHGloblal’s team used the set to record interviews and take photos of teams after pitching them to judges. Some shots of the upcoming Nouns documentary were recorded there too.

Games

The game area included foosball, ping pong, and carnival games as a play-to-earn-swag dynamic that helped to make people engage with the fair and the hosts to learn about Nouns.

Culture á la nounish

Fortune cookies were invented in San Francisco’s Chinatown. What better than blending the local culture with Nouns than making, arguably, the first custom-made nounish fortune cookies!

NFT gallery

The NFT gallery comprised five screens showcasing a very nounish selection, including Messhup, MrSeaks, Artxie, Greta Gremplin, Facu Serif, Brandon Mighty, and Nounish.

Nouns Fair reel

We hired a local professional that recorded the Nouns Fair experience.

We spent three days proliferating Nouns. We witnessed the interest and curiosity of people asking about the mechanism of Nouns, NounsAmigos, and the possibility of making proposals and contributing to the DAO.

We’d love to see more people and Latinos participate in the upcoming months by joining Nouns and NounsAmigos, ultimately executing proposals from and for Latin America.
